Because she brought it to the bakery this morning because she had nowhere else to take it and she got reeeeeally upset about a zoo and so Bart took it home.

A good zoo would be a much better place for it than someone's home. What with monkeys being wild animals and not pets and unless you happen to have a JUNGLE in your house, they aren't gonna be great pets. I'm sorry you've got to deal with it now, though.
