Bart's Back!

Cissie dragged just about every snack food she had out of the cupboard before turning to the mini-fridge. She was going to need to go shopping tomorrow but she didn't care at all. She checked her cell phone again after sticking some nachos in the microwave--nothing from Tim yet. She was dying to tell him about Bart, but she knew he was working and she didn't want to risk interrupting, particularly since he'd warned her that he would be out of touch for a while.

While the microwave worked its magic, she went back to her computer and laughed at Bart's latest message before sending one in return: "So--are you coming over?"

Cissie sat back in her chair and chewed on her lip while she waited.

Cissie laughed and threw a pillow at him, aiming for his head. "You're such a guy," she teased.

Bart snatched the pillow out of the air, and held it to his chest, wrapping his arms around it. "Well, yes, I'd certainly hope so," he said dryly. "Otherwise I'd have a lot more issues than I currently do." He shook his head, smirking.

She grinned at him, climbing into bed. "You're a goof," she said affectionately.

Bart smirked over his shoulder as he arranged the futon properly. "You know me too well," he said.

"Toss me a blanket," he said, placing his hostage pillow down at the top and settling down on the mattress.

Cissie did him one better--she tossed him three blankets and a second pillow before settling in under her own blanket. "Good night, Bart."

Wrapping himself up in his blankets like a cocoon, Bart smiled. "'Night Ciss," he replied. "And... thanks. For, you know, listening."

She smiled back. "Any time, Bart. Really." She reached over and turned off her lamp, curling back up around her pillow. "I'm glad you're back."

"Good night," she said quietly, waiting until she thought he was asleep before letting herself close her eyes and try to sleep.
