Ten songs I listen to to feel better

Ten songs I listen to to feel better (in no particular order):

1) Ships, Umbrellas

2) God Only Knows, Beach Boys

3) Hotel California, Eagles

4) Suite from Swan Lake, Tchaikovsky

5) Ain't Nothing Wrong with That, Robert Rudolph and the Family Band

6) Songbird, Eva Cassidy

7) Candle on the Water, Pete's Dragon

8) Love is a Movement, Switchfoot

9) My Confession, Josh Groban

10) Waterloo, Abba (Yes, shut up.)

Yeah, I know. Most of those are ridiculously sappy and cute. And there's Abba. But the slower ones seem to lower my blood pressure and the upbeat ones make me *smile*, so...

Also, I should add that *any* Christmas music ever makes me happy almost instantly.

Especially the Hippo song.

Dude, Abba? Really?

*snicker*

[identity profile] sofasterthanyou.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Shut up, Kon, Abba's awesome. XD

[identity profile] ihavettk.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Why do all my friends have such awful tastes in music?

[identity profile] sofasterthanyou.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
It's your terrible influence.

[identity profile] ihavettk.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
My influence in music is a force for good, dude.

[identity profile] sofasterthanyou.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Wendy and the Werewolf Stalkers is not a force of good, Kon. Ever. I don't care if it's based off your favorite show.

Now, Infected Mushrooms, that's a band that's a force of good.

[identity profile] ihavettk.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, shut up. I did not say they were the greatest band ever, did I? That is just a fun band.

Green Day's good.

[identity profile] sofasterthanyou.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Old Green Day is awesome. Their new stuff is auditory swill.

[identity profile] ihavettk.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, what do you know? You like Abba.

[identity profile] sofasterthanyou.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I was merely contradicting you, Kon, I was not protesting the excellence of Swedish pop.

[identity profile] cisskabob.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you kindly, dear sir.

You should know that "I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" always makes me think of you. ...I don't think there's an actual reason for it, though.

[identity profile] sofasterthanyou.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
*grins*

Is it because hippos are awesome? I think so. Also, did you know that they can move incredibly fast while swimming? Their lumbering appearance is only really applicable on land. They're also the most aggressive, and therefore dangerous, animal in Africa.

Also also, it could be that that song shows a distinct lack of self-preservation, as I have been known to do. Perhaps that's why you think of me.

Also also also, the song is obviously awesome, as am I. That's probably the reason.

[identity profile] cisskabob.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 05:32 pm (UTC)(link)
See? I knew it was a good association.

1) They are awesome and no, I didn't! Although I knew about the aggression thing and I *really* wouldn't want to be staring at an angry hippo, that's for sure.

2) ::laughs:: Maybe. And for some reason it feels like something you'd ask for.

You totally asked Max for a hippo at least once, right?

3) Sadly, you are entirely correct.

Also also also also, you and the song are both adorable.

[identity profile] sofasterthanyou.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course it's a good association, Ciss, you're a smart girl.

1) Yeah, they can outrun an Olympic sprinter over short distances. Not me, naturally, but... well. I have an unfair advantage.

2) Only once. He gave me a Look. *laughs*

3) Naturally. Being awesome, I know this kind of stuff.

*beams* Why, thank you for saying so. I do try.

[identity profile] cisskabob.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
::bows:: Thank you, thank you--so says my GPA.

1) Considering Olympic sprinters have *nothing* on you. Also, they are kind of bitchy.

2) HA! Priceless.

3) Don't go being modest on me, Bart.

[identity profile] sofasterthanyou.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
1) Very much like hippos, then, eh? *grins* I'm almost curious to see how well I would fare against a superspeed Olympic team. I'm so used to being the fastest, what would it be like if I wasn't?

2) It was pretty funny. I miss Max.

3) *laughs* I'll try to keep myself from downplaying my obvious awesomeness. I mean, how could I deny the people this? *gestures to self*

[identity profile] cisskabob.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
All I can think of to say to that is "oh, Bart."

[identity profile] sofasterthanyou.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
I'll have you know I was singing the hippo song all day and it was ALL YOUR FAULT.

[identity profile] cisskabob.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
And you were in a happy mood and loved me for it, because it is physically impossible to listen to that song and now smile.

You know I'm right.

[identity profile] sofasterthanyou.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
You're always right, hon. *pets*

[identity profile] cisskabob.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
See, you were who I meant when I said shut up. Besides, we won't even mention your taste in music. Your opinion is rendered moot.

Besides, it is awesome for singing along into a hairbrush at the top of your lungs while jumping on your bed. The only reason "Dancing Queen" didn't make the list instead is because every time I hear it I want it to be a big musical event the likes of which we see in Mamma Mia. That song deserves dancing in the streets and jumping into the Mediterranean.

Waterloo is more accessible. And historical like a Disney movie.

[OOC: Guh, HTML *fail*. And AGAIN! I quit.]

[identity profile] ihavettk.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
My taste in music is excellent.

I can't say I've ever sung along into a hairbrush with anything while jumping on the bed.

Ugh, Mamma Mia was an awful movie. It left me with this terrible taste in my mouth.

[OOC: Aww! Also, when I saw Mama Mia, I sort of started half-plotting a fanfic where Kon was getting married and he wanted both his genetic donors to be at the wedding, but he didn't know if it was Luthor, Westfield, or Lois and he invited them all or something. I never wrote it, probably for the best. Just felt like sharing! :)]

[identity profile] cisskabob.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
Kon, your taste in music is...well, I will agree to the adjective "special." "Excellent," not so much.

That is because you have never been a girl. Or to a slumber party.

And now I've lost faith in your taste in movies, too.

(OOC: Ha!)

[identity profile] ihavettk.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
You like Abba. You can't judge.

No, no I haven't. Well, we've had YJ sleepovers. Do those count?

Oh, come on! I like Exploding Explosions! You can't deny that movie is awesome.
