Ten songs I listen to to feel better (in no particular order):
1) Ships, Umbrellas
2) God Only Knows, Beach Boys
3) Hotel California, Eagles
4) Suite from Swan Lake, Tchaikovsky
5) Ain't Nothing Wrong with That, Robert Rudolph and the Family Band
6) Songbird, Eva Cassidy
7) Candle on the Water, Pete's Dragon
8) Love is a Movement, Switchfoot
9) My Confession, Josh Groban
10) Waterloo, Abba (Yes, shut up.)
Yeah, I know. Most of those are ridiculously sappy and cute. And there's Abba. But the slower ones seem to lower my blood pressure and the upbeat ones make me *smile*, so...
Also, I should add that *any* Christmas music ever makes me happy almost instantly.
Especially the Hippo song.

Date: 2008-11-07 05:11 pm (UTC)You should know that "I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" always makes me think of you. ...I don't think there's an actual reason for it, though.

Date: 2008-11-07 05:21 pm (UTC)Is it because hippos are awesome? I think so. Also, did you know that they can move incredibly fast while swimming? Their lumbering appearance is only really applicable on land. They're also the most aggressive, and therefore dangerous, animal in Africa.
Also also, it could be that that song shows a distinct lack of self-preservation, as I have been known to do. Perhaps that's why you think of me.
Also also also, the song is obviously awesome, as am I. That's probably the reason.

Date: 2008-11-07 05:32 pm (UTC)1) They are awesome and no, I didn't! Although I knew about the aggression thing and I *really* wouldn't want to be staring at an angry hippo, that's for sure.
2) ::laughs:: Maybe. And for some reason it feels like something you'd ask for.
You totally asked Max for a hippo at least once, right?
3) Sadly, you are entirely correct.
Also also also also, you and the song are both adorable.

Date: 2008-11-07 05:36 pm (UTC)1) Yeah, they can outrun an Olympic sprinter over short distances. Not me, naturally, but... well. I have an unfair advantage.
2) Only once. He gave me a Look. *laughs*
3) Naturally. Being awesome, I know this kind of stuff.
*beams* Why, thank you for saying so. I do try.

Date: 2008-11-07 05:52 pm (UTC)1) Considering Olympic sprinters have *nothing* on you. Also, they are kind of bitchy.
2) HA! Priceless.
3) Don't go being modest on me, Bart.

3) *laughs* I'll try to keep myself from downplaying my obvious awesomeness. I mean, how could I deny the people this? *gestures to self*

Date: 2008-11-07 05:10 pm (UTC)Besides, it is awesome for singing along into a hairbrush at the top of your lungs while jumping on your bed. The only reason "Dancing Queen" didn't make the list instead is because every time I hear it I want it to be a big musical event the likes of which we see in Mamma Mia. That song deserves dancing in the streets and jumping into the Mediterranean.
Waterloo is more accessible. And historical like a Disney movie.
[OOC: Guh, HTML *fail*. And AGAIN! I quit.]

Date: 2008-11-07 08:02 pm (UTC)I can't say I've ever sung along into a hairbrush with anything while jumping on the bed.
Ugh, Mamma Mia was an awful movie. It left me with this terrible taste in my mouth.
[OOC: Aww! Also, when I saw Mama Mia, I sort of started half-plotting a fanfic where Kon was getting married and he wanted both his genetic donors to be at the wedding, but he didn't know if it was Luthor, Westfield, or Lois and he invited them all or something. I never wrote it, probably for the best. Just felt like sharing! :)]

And now I've lost faith in your taste in movies, too.

Date: 2008-11-11 04:21 am (UTC)No, no I haven't. Well, we've had YJ sleepovers. Do those count?
Oh, come on! I like Exploding Explosions! You can't deny that movie is awesome.
