I am a lemming.

I'm not sure what this song says about my month though )

...And then my iTunes started playing "Who Wants to Live Forever" and I'm going to go back to thinking that the song of the month is a fun meme without ANY BEARING WHATSOEVER ON HOW MY MONTH TURNS OUT. Ahem.

[RP with [livejournal.com profile] mrsarcastic003, sometime after the talk with Tim and subsequent argument with Dick.]

After Bart left, Cissie trudged up the stairs to the apartment. She let herself in and kicked off her shoes. She had probably over-reacted, storming out like that, but she had just been so frustrated. With Tim, with Dick. With herself. And if she was honest, more than a little scared and hurt that Tim was apparently keeping something so important from her. Something Dick--who Tim was barely on speaking terms with--knew about. And judging from Tim's reactions, it wasn't something he wanted her to know.

The walk with Bart had helped, though. She was much calmer and less likely to start screaming--or crying--as soon as she saw Tim. In fact, when she had made her way through the apartment and found him waiting for her in the bedroom, all she really wanted was a hug. She leaned against the doorframe and said softly, "Hi."

Make a list of things you always wanted to say out loud:

-I love you. (Fortunately, I do get to say this. ♥)
-Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn. (CAN YOU BLAME ME??)
-We don't need no stinking plans. (HA.)
-We're not in Kansas anymore.
-You can't handle the truth!
-Tomorrow is another day!
-Here's looking at you, Kid.
-I'll have what she's having. ;)

...I think all this list does is prove that I'm a giant dork and I need to watch fewer movies.

[RP with [livejournal.com profile] mrsarcastic003, a few hours after this]

Cissie woke up for the second time Thursday morning when her alarm went off. She rolled over to her side of the bed and switched it off, bypassing the snooze button entirely. She thought briefly about getting up and going for her morning run, then grabbed her cell phone. No missed calls. No voice mails. No text messages. Ringer on high and obnoxious. Just like an hour ago. And a day ago. And every day since--and including--Saturday. She dropped the phone back on the nightstand and looked up at the ceiling for a few minutes. She should get up. Probably. But she was tired--she hadn't been sleeping well--and she didn't have anywhere she needed to be. So she rolled back over to Tim's side of the bed, huddled under the covers once more and hugged his pillow to her. She buried her face in it and drifted back to sleep for a few more hours.

Waiting

The lover’s fatal identity is precisely this: I am the one who waits.
- Roland Barthes

Saturday morning, Tim left.

On Sunday, Cissie woke up alone. She watched the sun filter through the window shades and wondered where Tim was waking up on his birthday. She stayed there until Grayson came and purred his demands for breakfast and attention, and then she got up. Kon came over later. They played Mario Kart and watched an entire season of Friends and ate pizza and the ice cream cake Cissie had ordered and forgotten to cancel. He stayed until she fell asleep on the couch, then carried her to bed and left her sleeping on top of the covers.

Monday, Cissie woke up alone and wondered why Tim was awake before her--and then she remembered, and she got up. She kept herself busy. She went shopping. She vacuumed, dusted, mopped. She unpacked the last of her boxes, and spent the afternoon at the archery range. She stayed there until she was exhausted, then came home and spent a few hours in the garden on the roof. Then she read until she fell asleep, reminding herself that it had only been three days. There was no reason to worry over three days. (Anything can happen in three days.)

Cissie watched the sunrise on Tuesday. Kon came over again, and they watched more Friends. While she was making dinner, she asked--casually--if he had heard from Tim at all. Kon looked at her from where he sat on the counter, and didn't answer immediately. When he said no, he added, "Tim can take care of himself. He'd call if he needed help." Cissie answered "I know" and continued chopping onions.

Wednesday, Cissie woke up alone. She got out of bed an hour after her alarm went off. She lost count of how often she checked her voicemail and her email. "No news is good news," Anita said, when she called her. (Unless it's bad news.) That night, Cissie heard noises upstairs. She went to look, but it wasn't Tim. Only Grayson, playing with some cat toys. Cissie sat in Tim's computer chair and looked at the pins in the map on the wall.

On Thursday, Cissie woke up on Tim's side of the bed. Alone. She checked to make sure her cell phone was still working, then burrowed back under the covers. Day six.

Moving Day!

So, who knew two people could have so much stuff?? :P BUT--we are all moved in!!!

That's right! Tim and I are officially residents of Metropolis! Today we moved in and assembled furniture and paaaaainted. Kon, thank you soooooooo much for helping!! We couldn't have done it without you.

...Okay, maybe we could have, but it would have taken a looooooot longer and been much more painful and difficult. <3 So thank you!

And I think Grayson likes the place, even if he slides all over the floors, silly cat. Tomorrow we're going cat furniture shopping. ;) And finish touching up the painting, and who knows. We can't really settle in and unpack until the paint dries, but we should be good to start on that by Monday, I think.

Anyway! After the box-lugging, wall-painting and furniture-assembling, we ate and fed Kon, and went up to the roof to see if we could see the fireworks.

We could! See?? )

And now Tim is Doing Things upstairs, and I am exhaaaaaaausted. But we have an apartment!! And now we live in it!! And it is very, very exciting! :D
