Interesting.
Dec. 18th, 2009 09:38 am...I have no idea what I think about this.
Robin Hood chronicles the life of an expert archer, previously interested only in self-preservation, from his service in King Richard’s army against the French. Upon Richard’s death, Robin travels to Nottingham, a town suffering from the corruption of a despotic sheriff and crippling taxation, where he falls for the spirited widow Lady Marion, a woman skeptical of the identity and motivations of this crusader from the forest. Hoping to earn the hand of Maid Marion and salvage the village, Robin assembles a gang whose lethal mercenary skills are matched only by its appetite for life. Together, they begin preying on the indulgent upper class to correct injustices under the sheriff.
On one hand--new Robin Hood movie, yay! I mean--Robin Hood!! YAY. And it looks like they might actually know how to hold a bow. Maybe. Also, Cate Blachett. Always good.
On the other hand... hello, blood and gore. Am I the only one having Gladiator flashbacks? I mean--Russell Crowe? Meh.
Oh, well. I will reserve judgment. I mean, I know Prince of Thieves was pretty horrible, but I still love it. So who knows?

2. Go to http://images.google.com and search for that word.
3. Reply to this post with one of the pictures on the FIRST page of results -- don't tell me the word.
4. Put this in your own blog so that I can do the same.

OOC: Ficlet Request Meme
Nov. 16th, 2009 02:03 pmBetween NaNo and fic exchanges and school, I am pretty busy these days, as you may have noticed. But I really like this meme! So much so that I'm crossposting this all over the place. ;)
SO I offer it to you as Christmas/Hanukkah/holiday ficlets! It may take me a while to write them, but I really will do it. (...Even if they wind up being New Years ficlets.)
1. Put your mp3 player on shuffle and take the first 25 songs it gives you.
2. Link to the lyrics.
3. Let your friends assign you a song and character(s) to write a drabble to.
( Songs under the cut! )
Sorry for cross-posting all over. And feel free to ask for more than one. Like I said--they might take some time, but I promise I will write them! ♥

7 Day Meme wrap-up
Oct. 8th, 2009 12:10 amthe 7 days meme:
Day one • a picture
Day two • a song
Day three • a book
Day four • a site
Day five • a youtube clip
Day six • a quote
Day seven • whatever tickles your fancy
Quote:
"Unicorns may go unrescued for a long time, but not forever; a happy ending cannot come in the middle of the story.” Peter Beagle, The Last Unicorn
( Whatever tickles my fancy )
I'm cheating and posting them together, mainly because I was too tired to post the quote yesterday and today I'm still tired. Oops.

Sep. 14th, 2009 09:19 pmMy username is:
cisskabob
My journal name is: Cissie. ...Because that's my name.
My title is: "Daylight is good at arriving at the right time." It's from All Things Must Pass by George Harrison:
All things must pass
None of life's strings can last
So, I must be on my way
And face another day
Now the darkness only stays the night-time
In the morning it will fade away
Daylight is good at arriving at the right time
It's not always going to be this grey
I like those lyrics. They're hopeful. (And for what it's worth, I picked this title a long time ago, when things... kind of sucked. They got better, just like the song says.)
My subtitle is: "Hope is floating on the breeze" From Waiting in the Weeds by the Eagles:
I've been stumbling through some dark places
Now I'm following the plow
I know I've fallen out of your good graces
It's alright now
And I've been waiting in the weeds
Waiting for the summer rain to fall upon the
Wild birds scattering the seeds
Answering the calling of the tide's eternal tune
The phases of the moon
The chambers of the heart
The egg and dart of small gray
Spiders spinning in the dark
In spite of all the times the web is torn apart
And I've been waiting in the weeds
Waiting for the time to come around again and
Hope is floating on the breeze
Carrying my soul high up above the ground and
I've been keeping to myself
Knowing that the seasons are slowly changing
My friends page is called: "I get by with a little help from my friends." Because I do. Also a Beatles lyric. Here, the song as used in Across the Universe.
My default userpic is:
I like the colors in it, and I think it works as an illustration of me, if that makes any sense.
( And that color meme going around )
Like Cassie said--interesting.

Ask me to take a picture of any aspect of my life that you're interested in - it can be anything from the house I live in to my favorite shoes. Leave your choice here as a comment, and I will reciprocate by taking the pictures and posting them as an LJ entry. Ask for as many as you want. That way you get to know a little bit about my life, if you're remotely interested in it.
( Requests so far )
[OOC: I will totally do this for both of Cissie's verses either in separate posts or cuts.]
