A kiss is a lovely trick designed by nature to stop speech when words become superfluous. [SWS]
[Written with
nokidflash; takes place Saturday night, after Day 4 of the ROAD TRIP]
Cissie snuck up behind Bart (well, as much as anyone can sneak up on a Speedster) and pounced, throwing her arms around him. "Boo."
Bart mock-squealed a little, grabbing onto Cissie's arms and spinning so though he's trying to find her. "Heeeey."
She giggled and hooked her legs around his waist to hang on. "Hi babe. What were you doing?"
"Did you just call me babe?" Bart made a little outraged noise, even though he was only kidding. "Are you objectifying me?" He trudged over to where they'd dug a fire pit. "I was thinking about you. And burritos. And Max. And Thanksgiving. And you. And starting a fire. And our kids. And you. And baseball. Oh, and you."
Cissie giggled. "Yes. I did, and I am." She kissed the back of his head. "Thanksgiving, huh?"
"I'm hurt and offended." He trudged around the campsite a little more, having fun giving Cissie a ride. "Yeah. Should we invite your mom to Keystone? Or should we go to both your mom's and my family's? And I've got to make sure Max goes to Keystone, otherwise I'm going to Max's, and then we'd have to do three."
Cissie really couldn't say why she had picked Thanksgiving out of that list, but she wasn't sorry she had. She was vaguely amused, but not really surprised by Bart's rambling thoughts. "Um? I don't know. We could all go to Keystone--I mean, I'm sure you could handle three Thanksgivings, but I definitely can't eat that much turkey in one day. Did you say you were thinking baseball, too? I am not playing any baseball."
"Wellllll, baseball was sort of about you, too. I think you look hot in a baseball uniform, and I was thinking about you in just the jersey and hat and nothing else." He stopped trudging for a second to pull one of her hands up to his lips and kiss the knuckles. "Okay, so we'll invite Max and your mom to Keystone."
Cissie kissed his neck, behind his ear. "I will wear a baseball jersey for you. But I won't play baseball. And that sounds like a good plan."
Bart smiled. "It was all about you. My thinking. The burritos was sharing a burrito with you and wiping guacamole off your nose. And you having dinner with Max. Thanksgiving, obviously. And starting a fire to curl up with you next to." He shrugged a little, careful not to shake her too much. "You're all I think about."
Cissie tightened her hold on him and tucked her chin in the crook of his neck. "You do a lot of thinking," she pointed out. "It's all about me?"
"Yeah, I guess I do. Remember when I was younger and I didn't do any thinking? I wonder what happened." But Bart knew. Superboy Prime had happened. Still, he liked the way he was now. "Maybe not all of it, but most of it. And even if it's not directly about you, I relate it back to you."
"You grew up. We all did." Cissie kissed his jaw, feeling happy and content just being with him like this, just the two of them. "I don't know what I did to deserve you, Bart."
"Nothing. That's love, silly. You don't have to do anything to deserve what we've got. It just is." He wandered back towards the fire. "It's getting dark, want me to start a fire?"
She nodded. "A fire would be nice. And you should put me down so you can hug me properly."
"I think that's a great idea." Bart knelt down so Cissie could climb off his back, then took two stick and rubbed them together at superspeed until they caught. He tucked them into the pile of dry branches they'd gathered and, as soon as he was satisfied that it would take, he turned around and pulled Cissie into his arms. "I love you."
Cissie grinned, hugging him back. "I love you too. And I love when you do that. It is so cool."
"Yes. Bart make fire. Grunt grunt." He leaned against a nearby log, pulling Cissie next to him. "What are you thinking about, Cis?"
Cissie leaned against him, snuggling under his arm. "I am thinking about how much I love you. And how happy you make me. And that it's really gorgeous here and it's kind of nice to have some space and just be here with you."
"See, you think about me a lot, too. I'm not a crazy obsessed boyfriend type." He made a silly-scary face. "Or am I?"
She giggled and kissed him. "I do think about you a lot. I think it has to do with being in love with you."
Bart smiled and reached into his pocket pulling out a small, flat box. "This is where I went last night." Inside were the earrings (no engagement ring yet!) he'd been looking at for awhile. White and yellow gold bulls-eye earrings, with a diamond stuck in the center.
Cissie inhaled sharply when she saw them. She held the box in her hand and looked back at him with what she was sure was a silly grin. "You were looking for these? Really?"
"Yes," Bart answered, barely whispering. "Are they okay?"
"Okay?" she repeated incredulously. She leaned in, kissing him fiercely. "They're gorgeous, Bart." Cissie rested her head against his shoulder. "You didn't have to do this," she murmured.
"I wanted to," he murmured after she kissed him. "I had some money, and they're cheaper in Tokyo anyway, and I wanted to. I loved your bulls-eye earrings when we were kids. But we're not kids anymore. I thought you should have something nicer."
Cissie smiled at him. "I love you. Thank you--they're beautiful." She kissed him again. "How long did it take you to find these?"
"Three weeks." Bart smiled. "No, just kidding. I went to New York, to a shop I'd gone into like fifty times in the last week to look at them. But they were closed. So I went to LA, but I just missed them closing. So Tokyo. I guess it took me a couple of hours, which was why you were asleep when I get back."
Cissie smiled and stood, moving so she could sit on his lap, hooking her arms around his shoulders. She leaned her head against his. "Thank you. That--" She shook her head, words failing her. That Bart had put so much thought and effort--and time--into the earrings made them more special than anything they were made of or anywhere they came from. "I love them."
"I'm glad. I - " Bart had thought about proposing to her tonight. He'd brought the ring on the trip with them. But in the end, he decided it wasn't right. Not yet. He was going to stick with his plan. But he still wanted her to have something special to remember the trip with. "I'll remember every second of the trip, but I know you won't. I wanted you to have these, to remember me sitting under the stars with you tonight, telling you how much I love you. It's sort of sappy."
Cissie cupped the back of his head with the hand not clutching the earrings, and kissed him. "I will remember this. The trip, and you, and being with you right now. Maybe not like you will, but I won't forget. These earrings are amazing, and every time I look at them, I'll think about this moment, right now. But I would remember anyway. Because I love you, and this is the happiest I've been in a long time, when I'm with you."
Bart smiled softly and then leaned forward to kiss her. "Me too. I can't look back on my life and regret a single minute, even all the bad stuff that happened, because now I've got you. You make everything worth it."
She leaned her forehead against his, smiling. She felt like she couldn't stop smiling. "You say stuff like that, and--" She shook her head, at a loss for words. She kissed him instead. "I love you, Bart. We say it all the time, but I just--" She had to stop again, this time blinking as her eyes filled suddenly. It was hard, but--she felt like she had to say it. Even if it had to be in a whisper because she couldn't force any more volume or force into her voice. "I just feel like--I want to tell you, all the time, because... We never know. What might happen, and I lost you once, and I felt like I didn't tell you enough, before, what you meant to me, and--you mean so much more to me now. I want--I need you to know that. How much I love you. That--you're everything."
"Oh." Bart took a long, deep breath. "Cissie. I... you're everything to me, too. You're my breath and my heart and my mind and, I dunno. I don't know how to tell you the way you make me feel, so all I can say is that I love you, because those are the only words that sound right. I never want to leave you again."
Cissie locked eyes with him, just sitting there in his lap, holding him for several long moments--what probably felt like ages to Bart, but she needed them to just... be with him. To hold on and love him and memorize everything he was saying. "That's how I feel too. Exactly," she finally whispered. She closed the space between them to kiss him until she ran out of breath. "Thank you for loving me."
It was ages, but they were ages with Cissie and Bart cherished each moment. "You don't have to thank me. I'd rather..." He almost said 'die', but stopped himself. "Listen to Kon sing than stop loving you." It wasn't as serious, but still. Bart knew she knew. "But. You're welcome."
She gave a small smile. "I just mean..." She shook her head, shrugging a little. She didn't really know what to say that she hadn't said before--how much she loved him, how she didn't know what she had done before he loved her. How she didn't know what she would do without him. "Well. You know." She kissed him again.
"I know." Bart smiled. "I love hearing you say you love me, though. So don't stop on my account. I've been waiting my whole life to hear you say it."
Cissie smiled at him. "I love you." She kissed him on his nose. "I love you." His cheek. "I love you." His temple.
Tears of happiness filled Bart's eyes, and by the third time she'd said it, a few had run down his cheeks. "I love you, too. I always have and I always will."
Cissie pressed her temple against his, holding him close. "Don't cry," she whispered.
"I tell you that all the time, but you totally do it anyway." Bart wrapped his arms tightly around her. "I'm scared to leave you."
Cissie squeezed her eyes shut, hanging on to him even tighter. "So don't," she whispered. "Please."
"Okay." They both knew he couldn't promise that. But he would do everything he could to be with her forever. "I won't. You're stuck with me. After I die I'm going to haunt you from the Speed Force, you'll get really annoyed, but oh well. Too bad."
Cissie hid her face in his neck, clutching at him. "Good," she managed. "You'd better."
"I will. You'll see." Bart held onto her quietly for a few seconds. "Okay, let's stop being sad. I don't mind us being mushy all the time, but we don't need to be sad. I'm not going anywhere any time soon. Promise. And tonight it's just you and me and nature."
Cissie nodded against him, taking a few deep breaths to relax. "Good. Though I'd rather not be interrupted by bears or mountain lions. And I think that means I've spent too much time with Steph."
Bart laughed. "Yeah, Squishy is sort of paranoid about nature. I think we'll be fine. This is one of the designated camping sites for a reason. It's just you and me tonight." he waggled his eyebrows and then realized Cissie couldn't see it because her face was still buried in his neck. "Uh. I just waggled my eyebrows."
Cissie laughed and wiped at her face with one hand before pulling back to look at him. "Did you, now?"
"Oh yeah." Bart grinned at her and kissed her cheek. "I was being totally suggestive and you missed it."
"Be suggestive again! So I can see."
Bart laughed and waggled his eyebrows again.
Cissie giggled and kissed him. "That was very nice. Thank you. But I'm not sure I'm completely clear on what you were suggesting."
"Oooh, you don't understand eyebrow speak? Well." Bart waggled them a little. "That means I think you're very sexy." And another waggle. "And we're all alone in a very romantic place." And a last little waggle. "So maybe you should take your clothes off."
Cissie laughed and raised an eyebrow at him. "Oh, is that what you mean?" She leaned in, giving him a deep, slow kiss. "I think I'm in favor of that plan. Did... you want to move into the tent?"
"Hm?" Bart was too distracted by that kiss to remember what they were talking about. He blinked back to awareness and looked at her. "Yeah. If you do, I think I'd like that."
Cissie smiled and rubbed her nose against his. "Yeah. I think it's a good plan, if you want my clothes off."
"I so totally want your clothes off." Bart pulled Cissie's legs around his waist, locking them at the ankles. Then he stood, kissing her as he walked towards the tent. He was only slightly clumsy about unzipping it and climbing in with her still attached, but he managed. He zipped the tent back up behind him.
Cissie giggled between kisses, and managed to toss her beautiful new earrings in her open bag. She grinned at him. "Were you planning on putting me down at all?"
"If I have to." Bart pouted a little and loosened his grip on her. But only so he could start tugging at her clothes. "I thought you like hanging onto me, BB."
She grinned, kissing the corner of his mouth. "I doooo, but I thought maybe it might make the clothes removal a little easier."
"You're so smart, my Cissie." Off came the shirt. Hers first, then his. "That's one of the bajillion reasons I love you."
"Is bajillion a real number?" she asked thoughtfully, wrapping her arms around him again and kissing her way along his jawline. "I think you're making that up."
"It's a Bart number." He leaned down and pressed her into their sleeping bag, hands running along her sides. "How about a google? That's a real number. One and a hundred zeroes."
Cissie took his face in her hands, kissing him soundly. "A google sounds perfect. I love your brain, you know that?"
"You've mentioned." Bart pressed his legs between hers, hooking her ankle around his calf. "What else about me do you love?"
"Your lips," she said, kissing them. "And your eyes. And alllll of you." She ran her hands over his shoulders and down his back, hooking her thumbs in the belt loops of his pants. She pressed up against him. "And how good and kind and generous you are. And how you always put other people first. And I think we are still wearing too many clothes."
Bart bit his lip, eyes locked with Cissie's. Everything she said made him feel like he was the most important person ever. Like he was the only person with nice lips and eyes and kindness. "You're right," he whispered, leaning into kiss her throat. "We should fix that."
Cissie tilted her head, kissing his hair. "I love everything that makes you you," she whispered, moving her fingers in tiny circles against the small of his back. "I am so in love with you, Bart."
"I'm in love with you too, Cissie." He leaned in and kissed her, lingering over her lips until he needed breath. "I've never felt anything like it before. Like the way I feel for you." He reached in and unbuttoned her pants, tentatively pushing them down her hips. "You're amazing."
She smiled a little, lifting her hips to make it easier for him. "That's pretty much exactly how I feel about you." Cissie pressed her forehead to his and reached around to find the button of his pants. "We're pretty silly, you know."
"We are?" Bart pushed her pants all the way off, then helped her with his. "Yeah. I guess we sort of are." He leaned in and kissed her while he unclasped her bra, pulling it off and tossing it aside. "Cissie?"
"If we aren't silly, then we're incredibly sentimental and mushy. Not that I'm complaining at all," she said, wrapping herself around him again. "Hmm?"
"I think silly is fine. I like being silly with you." Bart pulled her close. "Do you... wanna..." He blushed. They'd talked about this, but he still didn't want to push. "Uh."
Cissie leaned her forehead against his, smiling a little shyly, and loving him and his blushing. "I--yeah. I do." She kissed him. "I want. You."
Bart tried to keep the silly grin off his face. It's not like they'd been lacking in happy sexy times in the last few weeks. And he was fine with waiting. But he knew that her saying yes was special. Because of everything they'd talked about. He leaned in and kissed her slowly, "I want you, too. I love you so much, Cis."
"I love you too," she whispered, kissing him back. "I am always going to love you, and want you, and need you."
"Me too," Bart whispered. "Always always always." He ran his hands down her body, hooking his fingers in the waistband of her panties. "Are you sure?" He suddenly felt shy, wanting to make sure this was what she wanted.
Cissie smiled at him. If she hadn't been sure, everything he was saying and doing--his blushing and sudden shyness, his hesitancy and how careful he was being to make sure this was what she wanted--would have convinced her. "Yes." She kissed him. "I'm sure."
"I love you." And with that, he slid her panties off, followed by his boxers. He leaned in to kiss her again, reaching into his bag for the condoms he'd brought along. No Bart!babies just yet. "I want you."
Cissie kissed him back, running her hands up and down his sides. "I want you too. And God, I love you too, so much."
Bart had been with girls before. He'd fooled around. But he'd only had sex with one other person. He'd love it, and they'd had fun and been all over each other, but it hadn't felt like this... and he hadn't even done anything yet. He laughed a little as he tore the foil and reached down to put the condom on. "Sorry," he whispered, knowing she'd want to know why he'd laughed. "I've just... we haven't done a thing, and this is already the best sex I've ever had, 'cause it's with you."
"You do know how to inflate a girl's ego," Cissie whispered back, smiling. She wasn't nervous. She wondered if she should be—she had only done this with one person, and they hadn't been doing it long before she broke up with him; and even then, she had sort of tried to avoid it. She hadn't really been ready, and it had been like most first time experiences—not great—and the times after had only ever been okay at best. She wanted it to be good with Bart—but she wasn't actually worried at all. Or nervous, or anything but happy. She leaned up to kiss him. "That's how I feel too. You make everything better because you're you."
Bart smiled. He wasn't nervous, either. Once she'd said yes, once he'd known for sure that tonight was the night, all he felt was happy. Content. At peace. Also kind of impatient. He hadn't pushed her, and he'd never wanted to push her, but he'd been waiting for this moment. And now that it was here... "I love you," Bart whispered between kisses, and he slowly guided himself inside of her.
Cissie kissed him back, wrapping her arms around him and angling her hips for him. She couldn't help dragging in a slow breath as she felt him enter her. He was being so careful and slow and it didn't hurt, but it was still such a different sensation, being stretched and filled like this. She kissed him, holding on to him until he was all the way in. "Hang on," she whispered, needing just a second to adjust.
"Okay." Bart stayed perfectly still. He wasn't exactly sure why, but he certainly wasn't going to argue. Even if she made him roll off of her and stay outside, he'd do anything she'd ask. But he had a feeling that wasn't the issue. "Is this your way of complimenting my size?"
Cissie laughed and kissed him. "Quite possibly," she said, not entirely joking. She shifted a little and--"Oh." That was better. "Okay. I'm--we're good now." She hooked her legs around his and gave him a deep kiss. "I love you."
Bart still had no idea what was going on, other than Cissie shifting around, which felt very nice. But she said they were good, and so he started moving... slowly. He set a gentle rhythm with his hips, not rushing anything, and leaned in to whisper against her ear. "I love you, too."
Cissie leaned her head against his, pressing her lips to his neck. She let him set the pace, trying to take everything in. She wanted to remember this. How it felt, right now. How much he loved her. How slow and considerate he was being. She bit her lip, feeling a growing pressure as they moved, and held him, rocking with him. "Bart..."
Bart closed his eyes and slid his arms under Cissie's shoulders, cupping her body close to his. Every instant of this, from the feel of their warm bodies pressed against each other, to the scent of her hair, to the way his own body responded to her, was being seared into his memory, and that was exactly how he wanted it. When she called his name he opened his eyes and turned his head to look at her. "Cissie? Am I okay?"
Cissie laughed breathlessly, touching her temple to his and grinning. "Yes." She kissed him and moved a little, wrapping a leg around him more securely. "More than okay." She kissed him again, letting her eyes close. "...Am I?"
"Okay." Bart smiled and kissed her, and started moving again. "You're okay. You're amazing. You're everything I've ever wanted my whole life, Cissie. And the way you feel." He sighed. "I wish I could explain it."
She felt herself blush, and she kissed him again. "I don't know how you do that," she whispered. "You say things like that and--every time you say them, it feels like the first time. And you just--" She shook her head, at a loss. "You make me believe it."
Bart could feel her blush run through her body. It felt like she was melting against him. "You should," he whispered. "Believe me. Everything I say about you is true. I love you."
Cissie felt like she was melting. Like it was just them, only them, and Bart was all that mattered. "I love you too. I love you so much. I don't even--" She buried her face against his shoulder, clinging to him as they moved together. "You're my whole world, Bart."
He held onto her for a few minutes, quietly. The only sounds were their breathing, and the gentle swish as they moved against the sleeping bag. Bart clung as tightly to Cissie as she clung to him. It was a lot, to mean that much to someone. He thought maybe she should feel more pressure. But he didn't. For Cissie he'd do everything in his power to make her happy. He'd be her world, no matter what it cost him. "I love you," he finally whispered, repeating it yet again. He never got tired of telling her, or hearing it from her.
Cissie wanted to remember this. All of it--the sounds, the smells, the way the campfire outside illuminated the tent, and most of all, how it felt being with Bart like this, right now. How tightly they were holding onto one another, and how right it felt. She knew she wouldn't remember it like Bart would, but she wouldn't forget. Even if it was getting harder to focus on anything but their bodies and how it was getting harder to breathe properly. She managed to whisper back, "Love you too."
Bart felt Cissie's breathing increase. When he pressed his lips to her throat he could feel her sped-up heartbeat. And, of course, the way she moved her hips against his had changed. It was less slow and leisurely, if not rushed. He felt his own breath hitch, just at the idea of Cissie moving under him like that. It was such a turn on just to think of her that, coupled with the feel of her body, he couldn't help but respond, pulling away just a little to climb to his knees, changing the way he moved inside her. The rhythm of his hips sped up a little, and then a little more. "Cissie..."
Cissie couldn't help a tiny whimper when he pulled away, but he was just moving and changing positions a little and this was a good change. And he was moving faster and that was definitely good. She kissed him, because if she wasn't kissing him she was making small, helpless noises. "...Bart?"
"Just sayin'," he whispered. "Calling out my girlfriend's name while we have sex. Isn't that normal?" The question was only half kidding. Mia had been pretty open to whatever, so it was very hard to gauge what would freak her out (which was nothing) and compare that to what might freak someone else out. Also Bart had read an entire section of a library that was about sex. So he had no idea what was okay and what wasn't, not with Cissie. Not yet.
Cissie laughed, kissing him back. And then again. And again. "It's good. I wasn't thinking." She gave another breathless laugh, feeling a little giddy. "I love you, Bart," she whispered. She was so happy right now. "Bart, Bart. Bart..."
"Don't have to think, my Cissie. Just feel." He leaned in and kissed her throat. "I want to make you feel good."
Cissie breathed out a laugh, dropping her head back. She shifted, repositioning her legs around him. "You do. Always."
"Sexy good, silly." Bart smiled. She'd dropped her head back, so he took advantage to kiss her throat some more. Then he got playful and nibbled at her pulse point. "Love you," he whispered between nibbles.
She giggled. "That--yes. That too. You do." Yeah. Talking and finding the right words was not really her focus at the moment. "Love you too."
"'Kay." Bart decided to quiet down and focus on doing exactly what he'd promised: making Cissie feel good. His hands wandered over her body, tickling lightly, and he leaned in to kiss her again.
Cissie kissed him back, slightly desperate as his hands left her skin tingling as he touched her and she moved with him. She moved her hands over his back, reaching up to wind her fingers through his hair, hanging on as she got closer and closer to release. "Bart, please... Love you. So much..."
Bart groaned quietly when Cissie's hands tangled into his hair. "Want you to..." He shifted again, hips moving faster, and reached his hand down between their bodies, pushing it flat, fingertips brushing her clit. "Come for me." He bit his lip, blushing.
Cissie was close--so close--when Bart changed the pace and she let out a low moan, pressing her face against his shoulder, kissing his neck and clinging to him. When he moved his hand between them and started touching her, it didn't take much to push her over the edge.
Everything that was happening seemed like a slow building: a mixing together of touch and taste and sound until... until... until Cissie moaned and her body tightened, clenching around him. He kept moving, kept thrusting into her as she clung to him, and then the building stopped, and all that was left was for Bart to follow her over. He called out her name and curled his body over her, his own release washing through him.
It took Cissie a little while before she could even think about moving. She finally unwrapped her legs from around him, turning her head to kiss his neck. She untangled her fingers from his hair and began stroking it gently. "I love you," she whispered.
Settling down, Bart opened his eyes and smiled. "I love you, too." He kissed her softly and then pulled away. "I'll, um. Be right back." He stood and ran out of the tent, returning a second later and immediately snuggling back into Cissie's body. "So, uh. If you read about a naked man running through the streets of LA, that wasn't me, and I love you a lot so you shouldn't believe everything you hear in the news, because they're all lies." He tugged the sleeping bag up over them. "Also I love you. And... thank you. For that. It was amazing."
Cissie laughed, wrapping her arms around him again and curling up against him. "You went all the way to LA? Naked?" She shook her head and kissed him. "Thank you."
"I didn't want to litter." Bart wrapped his arms around her. "I've never had sex anywhere without a trashcan before."
Cissie was still working on the whole returning-to-a-normal-heart-rate thing, so she just laughed quietly and cuddled into his arms. "Me either." She turned her head a little and kissed his neck. "Thank you," she whispered. For being so careful. Patient. For wanting to make it special for her. For loving her so much. "For--everything."
"You're welcome, my Cissie." Bart hook his foot back around her ankle. "I'd do anything for you." He kissed her hair. "Can... do you mind if we talk a little?"
She smiled against his neck and shifted to a more comfortable position, feeling happy and warm and safe and just good. "I always like talking with you."
"I like everything with you," Bart replied, smiling. He ran his hands up and down her back in a soothing, gentle motion. "We just haven't talked about, I dunno. I know you've been with one other guy, like. Sex wise. Was that Kevin? Were there, you know. Other guys that you fooled around with? Not 'cause I want to compare myself, 'cause I know I'm awesome, but I dunno. I want to know all of you."
Cissie smiled and gave a thoughtful hum. "It was Kevin. It wasn't that long before we broke up, and..." She shrugged, knowing that Bart wasn't going to like what she had to say, but she was more than over it now--and a lot of that was due to Bart. "I kind of gave in because he was a pain in the ass about it. Otherwise--I don't know. One or two that I fooled around with a little. I've never really dated that much, I guess." She shrugged, a little embarrassed for reasons she wasn't even really sure about, and glanced up at him. "What about you?"
It took a lot for Bart not to get up and run out of the tent to go beat Kevin to a pulp. It helped that Cissie was holding onto him, and that he didn't want to ruin tonight by putting her ex-boyfriend in the hospital. "Oh." He took a few calming breaths and then nodded. "Kevin's a jerk. You deserve better. Someone that will always love and respect you and who will think you're more important than getting off. That's me, by the way." There weren't many things in life Bart was sure about, but he knew he could treat Cissie right, and love her the way she ought to be loved. "Me, yeah. Uh, just Mia, sex wise. She was... we slept together on our first date. She knew about Tabby, and I guess, I dunno. Maybe she wanted to help me forget her? It was..." Bart hesitated. He didn't want Cissie to take it the wrong way. "Good. I mean, we... did it a lot. It was a good experience for me, I guess. To have had. And I guess I loved her... I mean, I know I did, but it wasn't anything like with you. And... yeah. Before her was Valerie. We fooled around, but the only time we were close to having sex, I got called away and then..." Died. Bart sighed, and tightened his hold on Cissie a little. "And... before here there were a few women in AlternaKeystone, but nothing serious. I didn't think I was staying. And. Carol. But that was just kid's stuff."
Cissie kissed Bart's cheek, feeling him take those deep breaths and hearing the protectiveness in his tone. "He is a jerk. And I really don't care about him one way or another now," she said honestly, giving him a smile to show him how much she meant that. "You are soooo much better. And I love you so much more than I ever even thought I could love him." She kissed him and settled back against his shoulder, letting out a small sigh, trying not to get too insecure about Mia and Tabby right now. Right now she was happy and Bart was with her, and he loved her and was holding her pretty tightly, which she didn't mind at all. "I liked Carol. She was nice, once we both stopped being overprotective of you." It wasn't that she was ignoring Mia and Valerie, it was more that she just didn't really know what to say about them.
"You're my girl, Cissie." As usual, Bart was in tune with Cissie's thoughts. Partially, at least. "You're the woman that I'm going to marry and have kids with and grandkids and great grandkids and... everyone I was with before was just getting me ready to be with you, and to be the man you should have in your life."
Cissie pushed herself back, propping herself up against his chest and smiling at him. "I love you. So much. You say stuff like that, and..." She shook her head, leaning in and kissing him when words failed her.
"And you have to kiss me?" It was okay with Bart, though. He could live on Cissie kisses. And ten tons of food. But mostly Cissie kisses. "I'm glad I punched Kevin."
"Silly boy." She laughed and kissed him again, shaking her head. "I do have to kiss you. Because I love you, and you say things like that and I don't even know where to begin finding the words to tell you how much I want those things too, and how happy you make me, and how much I love you." She shrugged and kissed him again, whispering against his lips. "So, yeah. I have to kiss you."
"Oh. That... makes a lot of sense." Bart smiled at her. "I don't think I was ever good at talking until you. I mean, I never really knew the right things to say. I don't even know they're right now, I just know they're true and I want to tell you. So. I'm glad I get kisses for that, because I love Cissie kisses."
Cissie rubbed noses with him, smiling. "I love Bart kisses, so that works nicely."
"You work nicely." He knew it didn't really make sense, but that was okay. That wasn't the point. "This has been one of the best nights of my life, Cis. Just... not just the sex. But spending it with you, out here, just the two of us. I loved it."
She smiled at him and kissed him once more before lying back down and snuggling up against him. "I've loved it too. Everything. But especially you."
"We should go to a deserted island for or honeymoon. Where it's really warm and we don't need a tent, we can just sleep under the stars." Bart sighed happily. "And clothing's optional."
Cissie gave a quiet, contented laugh and pressed her lips to his skin. She let her eyes shut, happy to just lie here with him. "That sounds really nice. I like that plan."

They are adorable and allowed to be sappy. It's refreshing amongst all the more disturbed love stories!! :D

I know! It's weird to write happy with no-strings. Even Thirteen's got her disease hanging over her head. Bart and Cissie are free to just be Bart and Cissie... it's nice!
