Cissie knew something was up with Cassie. Even if it had been a while since they had really spent time together, she thought she still knew her friend well enough to tell. She had told Cassie she'd missed her, and she meant that; despite the time that had passed and everything that had happened since their Young Justice days--and even since Kon's death--she still considered Cassie her best friend.
In any case, they were long overdue for some Girl Talk and catching up, and an afternoon of cookies and tennis didn't sound like a bad idea.

And she'd missed Cissie, too, and knew, maybe better than anyone, how important it was to keep up with the people she loved. You never knew what might happen tomorrow.
She had all this in mind as she arrived at Cissie's and knocked on the door.

[ooc: ...I have NO IDEA why or how I switched tenses back there! ACK, sorry! I never do that! >_<]

[ooc: Haha, it happens. It works ;)]

Date: 2009-04-22 03:13 am (UTC)She takes a cookie of her own. "Which team?" she asks--there was more than one, after all, a fact she used to be all too aware of. Laughing a little, she smiles playfully. "You mean you want me to be Den Mother and keep Bart and Kon fed? That would be a full time job."

Date: 2009-04-22 02:58 pm (UTC)Still smiling widely, she leans back into the couch and looks up at the ceiling in thought. "Young Justice. The Titans..." She turns slightly away to hide the somewhat haunted expression she knows is crossing over her face. "That wasn't us." At least it wasn't who she wanted them to be now. She looks back, trying to banish the feeling. "Me, Tim, Kon, Steph...we're talking to a couple others and your name did come up if you're interested."

Date: 2009-04-22 05:32 pm (UTC)The other part of her is wishing she could be the Den Mother. She quit. She hasn't looked back, or thought about putting on a mask again in ages, and she's not sure she can do it. She's still not sure she trusts herself, because when she remembers what she did, she feels cold and sick and panicked. And the idea of picking up a bow like that again is... not at all appealing.
But she wants to be part of a team again. A family. Their family. She doesn't want to be a hero, but she doesn't want to be a civilian either. You can't have it both ways, Cissie.
She finally looks back at Cassie with a strained smile. "I don't know," she answers honestly.
