...I have no idea what I think about this.

Robin Hood chronicles the life of an expert archer, previously interested only in self-preservation, from his service in King Richard’s army against the French. Upon Richard’s death, Robin travels to Nottingham, a town suffering from the corruption of a despotic sheriff and crippling taxation, where he falls for the spirited widow Lady Marion, a woman skeptical of the identity and motivations of this crusader from the forest. Hoping to earn the hand of Maid Marion and salvage the village, Robin assembles a gang whose lethal mercenary skills are matched only by its appetite for life. Together, they begin preying on the indulgent upper class to correct injustices under the sheriff.

On one hand--new Robin Hood movie, yay! I mean--Robin Hood!! YAY. And it looks like they might actually know how to hold a bow. Maybe. Also, Cate Blachett. Always good.

On the other hand... hello, blood and gore. Am I the only one having Gladiator flashbacks? I mean--Russell Crowe? Meh.

Oh, well. I will reserve judgment. I mean, I know Prince of Thieves was pretty horrible, but I still love it. So who knows?

HEY! Gladiator is my favorite movie EVER.

Also, Ridley Scott directed it and this, so, yeah, total flashbacks. Annnnnnnnd, blood and gore is sort of THE POINT of gladiators so it was cool there and maybe not so much in Robin Hood.

But still.

I like Gladiator! It's a little gory, but like you said, it's kind of the point. But Gladiator is not Robin Hood and it will make me sad if it is too much like it.
