Cissie had told Roy she would call him after she talked with her mother, but she waited a few hours to do it. She needed to compose herself so he wouldn't think she was upset when she called.

Rest? Of course I rest. I sleep at night. Most of the time. And I take naps. When I'm tired enough. Yeah, okay, maybe my sleep pattern is kind of messed up, but I don't miss classes. Much. Anymore. And I don't fall asleep in class--well, except for calculus, but can you blame me? People who get ten hours sleep through that class.

Maybe I never really readjusted my sleep patterns after I quit. I mean--yeah, for a while I did, partly because Traya was my roommate and she needed more sleep. I felt bad being up on the computer or whatever when she was sleeping. But I'm just--used to staying up late. I do my homework better after midnight. I don't know why. Maybe because I know I'm not likely to get interrupted?

I mean--I get up and go to school. And then I go to practice, and I'm pretty much there until dinner, and then I go back to the room and hello--no one gets homework done between dinner and nine or ten, anyway. Or--none of the girls here. When Cassie lived with me, we definitely didn't. So that leaves late night for doing homework, and I like it that way. It's quieter and I can concentrate better.

And, you know, when Cassie lived with me, I knew she'd be coming back to the room in the middle of the night. So maybe I didn't really fall asleep--not deeply, anyway--until she was back. It's not like I sat up waiting. Except maybe for a while before she left... It's more like... Well, sometimes I needed to be able to wake up when she came in, depending on what--if anything--happened. And then, yeah, she left, so you'd think I'd learn to sleep when I wound up with no roommate. I just... I don't know. That's when I do my homework.

Sometimes I wait for Tim to get in from patrol before I fall asleep, yeah. Not always, and so what? It's not a big deal if I want to talk to my boyfriend before I fall asleep, is it? I mean, yeah. Of course I like knowing that he got through patrol and is okay. But that doesn't mean that's why I stay up. It's not like I'm waiting up for him. I'm usually up that late anyway, or close enough to it that another half hour or so doesn't matter.

Anyway--I do get plenty of rest. If I need more, I sleep more. I crash a little earlier or take a longer nap in the evening or something. It's not something anyone needs to worry about.

Cissie had a moment of brief panic when she realized Cassie was coming up to hang out and watch movies--it had been so long since they'd done that, and she was trying to let things go and give Cassie a chance. She had missed her, even if she wasn't sure if she was ready to forgive her yet. She ran around doing some last second cleaning of her room, shoving things in her closet before Cassie arrived.

[OOC: Sadly, no one can see this. ;) It happened sometime between Christmas and New Years, and Cissie would be horrified if Roy knew she was angsting about the guardianship thing.]

Cissie felt like crap. She was tired and achy and hadn't stopped coughing all day. By the time she got back to her room after classes, practice and dinner, all she wanted to do was crawl into bed under a million covers and not get up again until the weekend.

However, there were two chapters of A Tale of Two Cities to read, a history quiz to study for and twenty math problems to solve before she could. She put on her pajamas, plugged in her Christmas lights and settled in at her desk to try to work. One hour and five math questions later, she gave up and crawled into bed, huddling under her covers with Dickens.

She fell asleep halfway through the first paragraph.

Cissie wasn't completely sure how Kon had managed to get her to agree to this. She hadn't actually thought he would fly all the way to Switzerland just to get her chocolate, but she should have known better, considering what was at stake. But now he was on his way with probably enough chocolate to feed the entire school, and she really had no idea what to expect when he got there.

BOYS!

Seriously, lube-wrestling? In Speedos? Whose brilliant idea was that, so I know the right ass to kick? Is it me or does that sound like something you would rent from the curtained area of the video store?

Boys. Girls would never come up with this. ...Okay, maybe we would, but we would never get each other to do this sort of thing. We'd find some boys stupid enough to agree to do it for us.

Also, I am indeed a straight woman, and I am not insane. The idea of seeing my very hot boyfriend oiled up and in short shorts really doesn't bother me. At all.

I am not thrilled about other people seeing him like that, thankyouverymuch.

However, the other person oiled up and in a Speedo is Kon, who is essentially my brother. And also invulnerable and in possession of superpowers like speed and strength and the ever popular TTK.

...He is going up against Tim, though, and that is why I feel this will end badly for all parties.

You two had just better not wind up hurting each other, yourselves, or causing any kind of physical damage to one another because then I will HAVE to find an ass to kick, I swear to God. This situation just has coercion and disaster written all over it.

So. I am not insane. I am over-protective, possessive and occasionally unreasonable. But not insane.

Besides, someone should be defending Tim's honor.

Ten songs I listen to to feel better (in no particular order):

1) Ships, Umbrellas

2) God Only Knows, Beach Boys

3) Hotel California, Eagles

4) Suite from Swan Lake, Tchaikovsky

5) Ain't Nothing Wrong with That, Robert Rudolph and the Family Band

6) Songbird, Eva Cassidy

7) Candle on the Water, Pete's Dragon

8) Love is a Movement, Switchfoot

9) My Confession, Josh Groban

10) Waterloo, Abba (Yes, shut up.)

Yeah, I know. Most of those are ridiculously sappy and cute. And there's Abba. But the slower ones seem to lower my blood pressure and the upbeat ones make me *smile*, so...

Also, I should add that *any* Christmas music ever makes me happy almost instantly.

Especially the Hippo song.

[OOC: Co-written with [livejournal.com profile] mrsarcastic003! Tim and Cissie have been short on date-time lately, and decided to watch television "together" over instant messenger. Except that Tim doesn't watch much television and the only show they could agree on--and that worked time-wise--is Survivor, which Tim doesn't watch. Because he thinks it's stupid. But Cissie likes it.

Clearly, spoilers for the most recent episode of Survivor, as this is pretty much their running commentary.]

MissCiss28: Well--okay. But then it's like a train wreck? )
W1ndrBoy003: Remind me why we're watching this?

These people are all a bunch of whiners. Suvivor. Pft. Dump them in the middle of Gotham during No Man's Land. See how well they do.
MissCiss28: We're watching it because you love me. And it's a social experiment. You like those!
W1ndrBoy003: This isn't a social experiment, it's a catastrophe.

Part of being Elias' resident celebrity was that whenever prospective students arrived for tours, Cissie was one of the first students asked to conduct said tour. There were usually groups who came through every month or so, and Cissie didn't think much of it this time--until she got a good look at one of the girls, who was hanging toward the back of the group. She kept avoiding making eye contact with her, but every time Cissie looked her way, the girl looked away quickly, as if she'd been watching her. Cissie wasn't a stranger to gawking, or people staring at her, or even looking at her with that "how do I know you?" look, but there was something different about this girl.

Her fellow tour guide was giving the group the standard "life in the dorms" speech before they started leading them through one of the buildings when Cissie realized why she thought she recognized her--because she did.

She managed to paste a smile on her face and lead the tour of the athletic grounds, but as soon as Tori took over and began leading the new girls back to the school, she dropped to the back of the group. She grabbed Steph's elbow and hauled her behind a set of bleachers, only letting her go when they were out of sight.

"Why are you here?"

Cissie dragged just about every snack food she had out of the cupboard before turning to the mini-fridge. She was going to need to go shopping tomorrow but she didn't care at all. She checked her cell phone again after sticking some nachos in the microwave--nothing from Tim yet. She was dying to tell him about Bart, but she knew he was working and she didn't want to risk interrupting, particularly since he'd warned her that he would be out of touch for a while.

While the microwave worked its magic, she went back to her computer and laughed at Bart's latest message before sending one in return: "So--are you coming over?"

Cissie sat back in her chair and chewed on her lip while she waited.

Cissie had been nervous about today, but once she arrived at Roy's, things were just--easy and really nice. Lian was so sweet, adorable and friendly, and she had greeted Cissie with a hug and a guided tour. The Robin Hood marathon was the most fun Cissie could remember having without Tim in a long while. The three of them ate more junk food than Cissie thought was possible, and sometime during the last movie, Lian passed out in a sugar coma across Roy's lap. Cissie was surprised and touched when Lian gave her a huge hug before letting Roy tuck her into bed. Once Lian was in bed, Cissie followed Roy out to his car for the drive back to Elias.

"Thanks for having me over," she said, buckling her seatbelt. "I had a lot of fun."
